Memories begin to flourish once more in Neela’s weary little head: that tree was once very tiny and frail. Neela planted it in a land so barren and dry, that the little tree had had a terrible time to grow. Neela looked around her, wandered for days to find a better place for her beloved plant to grow but all her effort was futile, for there was no better spot for it to grow than the one she’d already chosen. So, she’d decided to let the plant grow where she’d planted it. She’d nourished the little plant with unyielding love and patience, watered it with her tears and fertilized it with her every drop of perspiration. She would sometimes stood over it, offering her back to be burned by the glaring sun so the sun won’t burn her beloved plant. She endured the scorching sun with smile on her face and tears to water that little plant of hers. She survived and so is her little plant.
After many years, the little plant became a little tree, and the tree grows and grows that soon Neela was too small to protect it from the sun. But the tree doesn’t need it anymore, for the tree has become big and strong. Neela spent many hours of her life, sitting beneath that tree and leans to it as if it was a friend and sometimes she would curl beneath and sleep. Many years later, as Neela was taking her nap in her feeble little hut, a sudden blow of wind flung itself against her hut and in less than a minute, her whole hut was gone, disappeared, carried by the cruel, angry wind.Add to favorites
